We designed a seamless 10-day cross-border expedition for a private group, traversing the majestic Swiss Alps before descending into the historic art cities of Northern Italy. This journey emphasizes the efficiency and beauty of Europe’s rail network, moving from mountain peaks to iconic canals without the stress of driving.

The Setting: The journey began in Zurich, Switzerland’s global hub for banking and culture. After a short orientation, the group boarded the scenic rail route to Zermatt, a car-free village famous for its world-class skiing and the iconic Matterhorn.The Highlights: Staying at The Matterhorn Inn, where the group enjoyed high-altitude air and panoramic mountain views, serving as the perfect base for exploring the Gornergrat and local alpine trails.
The Journey: The tour continued via the Swiss rail network to Interlaken, situated between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz. This leg focused on the sheer natural scale of the Jungfrau region, providing a gateway to the famous Lauterbrunnen waterfalls.The Atmosphere: A stay at the Hotel Tell provided a central, authentic Swiss experience, allowing for easy access to the mountain railways that define the region's transport history.
The Transition: Crossing the border by train, the group entered Milan. The focus shifted from nature to urban design, exploring the city's architectural landmarks before taking a high-speed Frecciarossa train to Florence.The Culture: In the birthplace of the Renaissance, the group explored the Starhotels Tuscany, utilizing the efficient Italian rail system to maximize their time at the Uffizi Gallery and the Duomo.
The Arrival: The odyssey concluded in Venice. Arriving directly at the Stazione di Venezia Santa Lucia, the group stepped off the train and onto the canals, staying at Hotel Amadeus to experience the historic romance of the city.
